Sonangol is the national oil company of Angola whose headquarters are based in Luanda, Angola. In the United Kingdom, Sonangol headquarters are based in London.
Cardlane Limited started as a Sonangol project aiming to fill the company´s requirements for qualified professionals as the company was in expansion. The first thirty students arrived in 1991 and were placed at the University of Salford.
The project was extended with the arriving of more students and consequently there was the call for establishing a dedicated company to look after the scholarship management, covering all academic, administrative and financial aspects.
Later on other government and commercial entities such as the Angolan Ministry of Oil and oil and gas companies operating in Angola also signed contracts with Cardlane, in order to have their scholarship programs managed us company.
As a result, for several years, hundreds of Angolan students have had the opportunity to study and graduate in some of the best British and European universities.
Cardlane offers a comprehensive support to the Angolan scholarship recipient, through a close relationship with schools and universities, and a continuous support in all aspects related to his life as a higher education student overseas.
